Training camp opened last weekend for free agents

TORONTO – The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club held the tryouts for rookies and free agents this Saturday and Sunday at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Ohsweken on the Six Nations Reservation.

Head coach and general manager Terry Sanderson has invited 27 players to the preliminary camp who hope to prove they deserve a shot in full training camp, which begins on Nov. 11, also at Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

Players invited to attend this weekend’s camp include players from last year’s practice roster including John Preece, Sean Turner and Jeff Summerfield, free-agent acquisition and defenseman J.J. Dickie and draft picks including Tyler Gibbons from Owen Sound.

A list of players invited to full training camp will be released in early November.
