What to watch for vs. Albany FireWolves

Rock Have Another Chance To Clinch A Playoff Spot Tonight

Albany, NY – The Toronto Rock (10-4) will face the Albany FireWolves (2-10) on Saturday night at MVP Arena in Albany, NY for the second of two meetings this season.  The Rock beat the FireWolves just two weeks ago in Hamilton at FirstOntario Centre by a score of 12-6.

The Rock were in a position last weekend to clinch a playoff spot with a win over Halifax but came up just short in a 14-12 loss to the Thunderbirds.  Tonight, in Albany, the Rock are in the exact same position; win and you’re in.

Fans can watch the game vs. Albany at 7:00pm ET on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App.  To stream the game, simply login to TSN+ with your cable or satellite provider’s credentials or your TSN+ account info if you’re a subscriber to the streaming service.

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • On Friday, the Toronto Rock activated captain Challen Rogers, placing him on the Active Roster from the Injured Reserve List. Rogers had missed the last two games after suffering an upper body injury on March 6 at Philadelphia.  The Rock were 1-1 without their captain.
  • Forward Dan Dawson will move to the Injured Reserve List with an upper body injury.
  • Chris Corbeil and Mitch de Snoo remain on the Injured Reserve List.
  • Brad Kri currently sits second in the league with 32 CTOs this year and is one of the favourites for the NLL’s Defensive Player of the Year Award.
  • Tom Schreiber at 91 points is just 4 points away from setting a new career-high in points in a season. He scored 94 points in his rookie season in 2017 and in 2019.
  • The Rock return home for the biggest game of the year on home floor against the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, April 1.
