What to watch for vs. Buffalo Bandits

Rock Looking To Spoil Bandits’ Perfect Record

Hamilton, ON – The Toronto Rock (4-3) are ready to take on the NLL’s best team, the Buffalo Bandits (6-0) in the second of three meetings this season on Saturday night at 5pm ET at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, ON.  The Rock came up short in a 12-6 loss to the Bandits back on January 8 in Buffalo, NY.

Fans can watch the game live at 5:00pm ET on TSN5 as the NLL Game of the Week and on TSN’s digital platforms via TSN.ca and the TSN App.  To stream the game, simply login to TSN Direct with your cable or satellite provider’s credentials or your TSN Direct account info if you’re a subscriber to the streaming service.

Here’s what to watch for in tonight’s matchup.

  • The Rock and Bandits are 1-2 in the league in average shots for per game. The Rock lead with 54.6 and the Bandits aren’t far behind at 53.7.
  • Both the Rock (3-0) and the Bandits (6-0) are undefeated when scoring first. However, the Rock do have a win after giving up the first goal of the game.  The Bandits, well, they’ve just scored first in every game they’ve played.
  • The Rock are 17-11 in 28 all-time meetings at home vs. the Bandits.
  • Rob Hellyer is just one point away from breaking a tie for 5th place in Rock all-time assists with Stephan Leblanc. Next up… he’s just 29 assists behind Jim Veltman for 4th in all-time Rock assists.  He’s also closing in on 4th in goals and points.  At season’s end, it’s likely he’s 4th all-time across the board in Rock history.
  • Adam Jay and Latrell Harris remain sidelined with injuries.
  • The Rock are looking forward to welcoming back fans on Saturday, March 5 against the New York Riptide. Per provincial regulations, the Rock will have a capacity limit of approx. 8500 for that game!  It will be the first time in 2022 that fans will be able to attend a game in Rock City.

Check out this week’s edition of the Toronto Rock Total Access podcast to get yourself ready for the game.  This week’s guest is the man at the top, Rock Owner, President and GM Jamie Dawick.

The Rock will hit the road for the next two weekends following tonight’s game.  On Saturday, February 19 the Rock will visit Albany to face the FireWolves.  Then on Saturday, February 26, the Rock will travel to New York for a clash with the Riptide.
