What to watch for vs. Buffalo Bandits

A Rock Win and They’re In!

Buffalo, NY – The Toronto Rock (11-2) are prepared to take on their biggest rivals, the Buffalo Bandits (6-6) tonight at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY.  The Rock will be looking to even the season series after dropping their previous meeting with the Bandits 16-14 in January at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton.

Fans can watch the game vs. Buffalo at 7:00pm ET on TSN 5 and TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game, you need a TSN+ subscription.

Here’s a look at Toronto’s playoff clinching scenarios:

    • An Albany win vs Rochester, OR
    • A Philadelphia win vs Georgia
  • Can clinch a first-round home playoff game with:
    • A win vs Buffalo, AND
    • A New York win vs Saskatchewan, AND
    • An Albany win vs Rochester, AND
    • A Philadelphia win vs Georgia

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • Nick Rose is even closer to passing Bob Watson and hitting some NLL and Rock milestones. With 32 saves tonight, he will become the Rock’s all-time leader in career saves and a win puts him into 3rd place in all-time NLL victories with 106.
  • Rose continues to lead the NLL with a 9.38 GAA which is nearly a half-goal-against per game better than San Diego’s Chris Origlieri at 9.87. The Rock netminder also leads the NLL with an 81% Save Percentage.
  • To put even more perspective on how Rosey stacks up against the greats and how consistently good he’s been, he’s on pace to have a fourth consecutive sub 10.00 GAA season. Bob Watson only had two career sub 10.00 GAA seasons and they were separated by eight seasons in between.
  • Just a little more on Rose, because why not, he’s also chasing his fourth straight season with a save percentage over 80%, and his fifth overall. Almost unbelievably, Watson never had a season with a save percentage over 80%.
  • In 66 all-time head-to-head matchups with the Bandits, the Rock hold a 36-30 win/loss record, and are an even .500 in Banditland at 17-17.
  • Mitch de Snoo had five Caused Turnovers (CTO) in last week’s win over Colorado. That runs his season total to 27, good for the Rock team lead and second best in the NLL entering this weekend’s game.
  • Following this morning’s shoot around, the Rock placed Phil Mazzuca on the Injured Reserve List and moved Alex Kew to the Active Roster.
  • INJURY REPORT: Challen Rogers (UBI) and Josh Jubenville (LBI) remain on the IR and are out for tonight’s game. Latrell Harris, Tyler Hendrycks, and Chase Schiavon all remain on the PUP List.
  • Next weekend, it’s MARVEL Super Hero™ Night in Rock City when the Rock face the Halifax Thunderbirds on Saturday night at 7pm at FirstOntario Centre!
