What to watch for vs. Georgia Swarm

Rock Looking For A Win Prior To Holiday Break

Duluth, GA – The Toronto Rock (0-2) face the Georgia Swarm (1-0) in what’s become a very important early season game, especially for the Rock.  This will be the first of two regular season meetings between the familiar foes.

Fans can watch the game vs. Georgia at 7:30pm ET on the NLL’s new FREE streaming service NLL+.  Additionally the game is available on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • Nick Rose will make his 124th consecutive regular season start in the Rock net. The streak began on April 23, 2016.
  • Speaking of streaks, Mark Matthews has never missed a game in his NLL career, playing in 190 consecutive games entering tonight.
  • The Rock and Swarm played only once last season with the Rock winning 12-9 on Jan. 20, 2024 in Rock City. On that evening, Corey Small (4), Dan Craig (2), and Mark Matthews (1) combined for 7 goals from the left side.  That trio will be leaned upon again tonight with the Rock looking to get the offence going.
  • Brad Kri is set to make his return to the lineup tonight and play his first game of the season. Kri was unable to participate and prepare during training camp as he completed firefighter training but now takes aim at hitting a milestone.  He’s 15 loose balls away from 1,000 in his NLL career.
  • Corey Small is also on milestone watch. The gifted shooter is just 5 points away from 900 for his career.
  • INJURY REPORT: Challen Rogers, Tom Schreiber, Latrell Harris, and TD Ierlan are on the IR with lower body injuries. Chris Corbeil joined the IR this week with an upper body injury.

To get you primed for tonight’s game, listen to this week’s episode of the Toronto Rock Total Access podcast with Challen Rogers and Nick Rose.

Fans should also check out the latest episode of Rock City Unplugged, streaming now on the Rock’s YouTube Channel and on TSN+.
