What to watch for vs. Oshawa FireWolves

Rock Look To Even Season Series

Hamilton, ON – The Toronto Rock (4-3) face the Oshawa FireWolves (2-7) for the second and final time this season.  In their first matchup way back on the opening weekend of the season, the FireWolves edged the Rock 8-7 on a last-minute goal.  Since then, the Rock are 4-2 and Oshawa has won just once in the next eight tries.

Fans can watch the game vs. Oshawa at 7:00pm ET on TSN and on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • Tonight, Bill Hostrawser and Mark Matthews will play their 200th career games in the NLL. They will be the 65th and 66th players to play 200 NLL games, in no particular order.  Vancouver’s Jeff Cornwall is also at 199 entering this weekend, however he is on the Warriors’ injured reserve list.
  • Matthews is also within striking distance of yet another milestone for the future hall of famer. He’s 7 points shy of becoming the 14th player in NLL history to score 1,100 career points.
  • One stat the NLL tracks that doesn’t get a lot of attention is “touches” – the number of times the ball is in a player’s stick. The Rock leader is captain Challen Rogers with 372 through 7 games.
  • Chris Boushy scored 5 goals last week and leads the team with 2 game-winning goals this season. Owen Hiltz and Mark Matthews have scored the other two game winners for the Rock.
  • INJURY REPORT: TD Ierlan is on the PUP List. Zack Kearney is on the Season Ending Injured Reserve List. Sam English (Lower) and Nick Rose (Lower) are on the Injured Reserve List.
  • The Rock will embark on a home-and-home with Colorado beginning next weekend at the Mammoth. The following weekend, the Rock will host Colorado on Friday, February 20th on Latrell Harris Bobblehead Night.

Fans can check out a brand new episode of Rock City Unplugged featuring behind the scenes access and interviews with Rock players and staff that gives you a peek behind the curtain.

A new episode of the Toronto Rock Total Access Podcast also dropped featuring guest Sam English who makes an impactful debut on the program.  Join host Mike Hancock and co-host Challen Rogers each week.
