What to watch for vs. Philadelphia Wings

Final Regular Season Home Game

Hamilton, ON – The Toronto Rock (12-4) will take on the Philadelphia Wings (7-8) on Saturday night at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, ON in another big East Conference matchup.  It’s the Rock’s final regular season home game.

This is the third and final meeting between the Rock and Wings this season, with each team winning once.  Both previous games were played in Philadelphia.

Fans can watch the game vs. Philadelphia at 7:00pm ET on TSN4 and TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App.  To stream the game, simply login to TSN+ with your cable or satellite provider’s credentials or your TSN+ account info if you’re a subscriber to the streaming service.

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • Mitch de Snoo, Dan Dawson, and Chris Corbeil were all moved to the Active Roster on Thursday. For Corbeil, this will be his first game of the season and first as a Toronto Rock after signing in the offseason as a UFA.
  • With 25 penalty minutes in the Rock’s last game, he soared into the Rock all-time lead in PIMs with 449. Entering the Rock’s last outing, he sat third all-time, but passed Pat Merrill (436) and Dan Ladouceur (428) with his Bobblefist night penalty minute total.
  • Nick Rose currently sits first in the NLL with a 9.03 GAA, first in wins with 12 and tied for third in Save Percentage at 80%. The Rock veteran has made the strongest case of his career for the Goaltender of the Year Award.
  • Tom Schreiber currently sits at 42 goals with two games remaining. 8 goals would get him to 50 goals, and it would be just the second time a Rock player has scored 50 in a season.  Brett Hickey is the only one to do it with 50 in 2015.
  • The Rock will wrap up their regular season next Saturday night in Buffalo. A Rock win will clinch the East Conference title for the Rock and home floor advantage throughout the East Conference Playoffs.

Check out this week’s edition of the Toronto Rock Total Access podcast with co-host Challen Rogers to get yourself ready for the game.  This week’s show checks in with Rock forward Zach Manns.

Fans should also check out a brand-new episode of Rock City Unplugged, streaming now on the Rock’s YouTube Channel and on TSN+.

The Rock have clinched home floor advantage in the first round and will host a yet to be determined opponent in the NLL Quarterfinals on Friday, May 5 at 7:30pm at FirstOntario Centre.  The Playoff Pack and single game tickets are on sale now!
