What to watch for vs. Rochester Knighthawks

Rock Looking To Lock Up Top Seed

Hamilton, ON – The Toronto Rock (13-3) will face a desperate Rochester Knighthawks (6-9) squad tonight at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton. Tonight’s game will be the Rock’s final regular season home game prior to the playoffs and it’s also Fan Appreciation Night in Rock City.

Fans can watch the game vs. Rochester at 7:30pm ET on TSN 3 and TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game, you need a TSN+ subscription.

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • Nick Rose (107) can move into 2nd place in all-time wins, passing Pat O’Toole (107). Rose would then trail only Matt Vinc on the all-time wins list.  The Bandits’ goalie has a sizeable lead in that category with 156.
  • A Rock win tonight will equal the club’s highest win total in franchise history. The Rock went 14-4 in 2015 and went all the way to the NLL Finals before dropping the best-of-3 series to the Edmonton Rush.
  • The Rock have a couple of reasons to keep their eyes on the scoreboard around the league tonight. The Rock can clinch the NLL’s top playoff seed with a win of their own, or a San Diego loss.  At the other end of the standings, if Colorado beats Las Vegas tonight, that will lock the Desert Dogs into last place in the NLL.  The Rock hold the Desert Dogs’ first round pick, meaning the Rock would have the first overall pick in September’s NLL Draft.
  • Corey Small is just 1 assist shy of 500 in his career. The gifted scorer is also closing in on 900 career points and is just 14 shy of that mark.  Only 18 players in NLL history have reached the 900-point plateau.
  • INJURY REPORT: Brandon Slade is on the IR with a lower body injury. Latrell Harris and Chase Schiavon remain on the PUP List.
  • Next weekend, the Rock will wrap up the regular season with a trip to Saskatchewan to face the Rush. The Rock will open the playoffs at home on Saturday, April 27th at 4:30pm at FirstOntario Centre.

Fans should also check out the latest episode of Rock City Unplugged, streaming now on the Rock’s YouTube Channel and on TSN+.
