What to watch for vs. San Diego Seals

Rock Hope To Continue West Coast Winning

San Diego, CA – The Toronto Rock have not quite yet been themselves and will be looking to establish their identity on the road later tonight.  The Rock (1-2) will face the San Diego Seals (1-2) as both teams are in similar situations, still looking to find their way early in the season.

Fans can watch the game vs. San Diego at 10:30pm ET for FREE on NLL+.  Alternatively, fans can stream the game through TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.

Here’s what to watch for in Saturday’s matchup.

  • While the Rock have enjoyed moments of success through three games, the team is hoping a trip out west will cure what ails them. In five all-time meetings, the Rock are 4-1 against the Seals and are 2-0 at Pechanga Arena.
  • Toronto Rock assistant coach Dan Dawson played for the Seals in their inaugural season in the NLL in 2019 posting 29 goals, 59 assists and 88 points in 18 games. The Seals finished 10-8 that season but lost to Calgary in the West Semi-Final.
  • Nick Rose continued to climb the ladder in the Rock record book playing in his 209th game with Toronto on December 27th vs Las Vegas and passed Bob Watson for second on the Rock’s all-time games played list. He now trails only Colin Doyle (218) for the all-time lead.
  • 2025 1st overall pick CJ Kirst continues to turn heads after scoring 4 goals in the Rock’s loss to Las Vegas to end 2025. Kirst leads the team with 7 goals and 13 points through three games.  He also leads the team with 21 loose balls and is tied for second with 5 caused turnovers.
  • INJURY REPORT: TD Ierlan is on the PUP List. Zack Kearney is on the Season Ending Injured Reserve List.
  • The Rock will continue playing away from home when they visit Rochester to face the Knighthawks on Saturday, January 17 at Blue Cross Arena.
