What to watch for vs. Saskatchewan Rush

Rock Welcome Back Key Pieces Heading into Tonight’s Game

Mississauga, ON – The Toronto Rock (0-5) are back at home for the first time in 2025 and welcome the Saskatchewan Rush (4-1) to Rock City for the only meeting of the regular season between the two Canadian clubs.

Fans can watch the game vs. Saskatchewan at 7:00pm ET on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.  The game is also available for FREE on NLL+.

Here’s what to watch for in Friday’s matchup.

  • Following morning shoot around the Rock announced several roster moves. Superstar forward Tom Schreiber and faceoff specialist TD Ierlan were both moved from the Injured Reserve List to the Active Roster.  Schreiber’s only game action was the season opener in Ottawa, but it will be the season debut for Ierlan.  Moving to the Practice Roster are Aaron Woods and Jake Darlison.
  • While the Rock have a -21-goal differential, they are just -4 in their last three games, perhaps a sign the tide is beginning to turn for a team that finished last season with the NLL’s best record.
  • The last time the Rock started 0-6 was 2016. That start stands as longest winless streak to begin a season. The Rock posted a win in game seven and finished the season with a 5-13 record.
  • A Rock win tonight will see Matt Sawyer move into 9th in NLL all-time coaching wins with 86, passing NLL Hall of Famer Chris Hall.
  • Troy Holowchuk came into last week’s game vs. Buffalo and stopped 9 of the 11 shots he faced over 12:51 of work.
  • INJURY REPORT: Latrell Harris remains on the IR with a lower body injury but is nearing a return. Mark Matthews is also still on the IR with an upper body injury and is out indefinitely.
  • The Rock will begin a two-game road trip with a game in Calgary next weekend against the Roughnecks. A matchup that is always worth the watch.

A new episode of the Toronto Rock Total Access podcast is available and features a conversation with Rock defender Elijah Gash.

Fans should also check out a new episode of Rock City Unplugged, streaming now on the Rock’s YouTube Channel and on TSN+.
