What to watch for vs. Vancouver Warriors

A Massive Matchup On The West Coast

VANCOUVER, BC – The Toronto Rock (6-5) are on the road tonight to take on the high-flying Vancouver Warriors (9-3) at Rogers Arena.  The Rock are looking to rebound after a home loss to Buffalo and take another step closer to the playoffs.

Fans can watch the game vs. Vancouver at 10:00pm ET on TSN 1&4. Alternatively, tune in on TSN’s digital platform TSN+ via TSN.ca and the TSN App as well as ESPN+.  To stream the game on TSN+ or ESPN+, a paid subscription is required.

Here’s what to watch for in Friday’s matchup.

  • The Toronto Rock have battled the injury bug in recent weeks and there was some good news delivered following this morning’s shoot around. Goaltender Nick Rose and Forward Dan Craig have both been activated in time for tonight’s game and will be available to Head Coach Matt Sawyer.  D Phil Mazzuca has been placed on Injured Reserve with an upper body injury and F Isiah Moran-Weekes has been placed on the Practice Roster.
  • Monday is the NLL’s Trade Deadline at 3pm. Who will be buying and who will be selling?  It’s something to keep an eye on this weekend as we’re firmly entrenched in the back half of the season.
  • Brad Kri will surpass Jim Veltman on the Rock franchise games played list when the whistle blows tonight. For the 155th time, Kri will pull on the Rock jersey to move into 9th all-time.
  • Challen Rogers has been hotter than the sun lately and another 3 points in last week’s game vs. Buffalo has moved him that much closer to the 300-point plateau for his NLL career. 2 points is all he needs in his BC homecoming tonight.
  • The Rock are 13-3 all-time against the Vancouver franchise (Warriors + Stealth) including a 6-2 record in BC. Times have changed a bit and Vancouver is now considered a top club in the NLL and they are closing in on top spot in the NLL.
  • INJURY REPORT: TD Ierlan is on the PUP List. Zack Kearney is on the Season Ending Injured Reserve List. Phil Mazzuca (Upper), Justin Martin (Lower), and Chris Weier (Upper) are on the Injured Reserve List.
  • The Rock will continue this two-game road swing with a date at Halifax next Friday night. The game will be featured on NLL Friday Night on TSN.

Fans can check out the latest episode of Rock City Unplugged featuring behind the scenes access and interviews with Rock players and staff that gives you a peek behind the curtain.  On this episode, the creative genius behind the Rock’s Indigenous Heritage Night jerseys Kory Parkin is featured.

A new episode of the Toronto Rock Total Access Podcast also dropped as Challen Rogers gets ready to make his return home to BC to face the Warriors.
