Zach Manns Signs 3-Year Deal

Offensive Scoring Threat Could Be Rock’s Secret Weapon

Oakville, ON – Toronto Rock Owner, President, and GM Jamie Dawick today announced the signing of forward Zach Manns to a 3-year agreement that runs through the 2024-25 season.

The signing is pending league approval.

Manns has flown under the radar at times with the Rock with the likes of Tom Schreiber, Dan Dawson and Dan Craig often owning the offensive spotlight.  After a strong summer in the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) with the Nanaimo Timbermen, Manns appears to be on the cusp of a breakout season at the pro level.

“I think he took a big step last season in his second year in the NLL,” said Dawick.  “His first season was cut short due to COVID and then we missed a year, so we’re looking for him to take continue on the developmental path he’s now on and becoming a regular scoring threat for us on the offensive left side.  We want him to become a challenging guy to play against.  He had a great summer out west and he’s added some size so we’re very excited about what’s to come this year for Zach.”

Manns finished the 21-22 campaign with 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points.  He has the ability to put up monster numbers, as he exhibited in a game against Halifax last season, scoring four goals and totaling seven points.

“I’m super excited to be back with the Rock for the foreseeable future,” said an exuberant Manns.  “I’m honoured to be able to sign a three-year deal and be viewed as an important asset to the team.  I can’t wait to get out there on Saturday for training camp.”

With the offseason addition of Corey Small and the rise of Dan Craig into the upper echelon of NLL goal scorers, Manns is nicely surrounded by some strong veteran scorers on the left side.  It’s something that should only accelerate his development into a big-time point producer at the game’s highest level especially given his successful summer.

“I think fans will see a bigger, faster, and more confident number two on the floor this season,” said Manns who proudly displays that digit on the back of his Rock jersey.  “I had a great summer of development with my trainer, shoutout to mom, and you will see a better athlete and overall, just a more confident player this season.”
